A new patent from Apple suggests they are working on pico projector technology, almost certainly to build into the iPhone, iPod, iPad or iSomethingElse.
The Original and Complete Patent (boring!)

Additional information:
It might not be that Apple is planning to build a pico-projector into any product specifically, but rather that they are working on technology to allow a device (iSomething or MacBook, probably) interact with a projector. In other words, if one device had a projector, you could show content from another. Or, possibly, even show content from two devices at the same time. Maybe like a whiteboard application, but imagine that with pictures, videos or during a live presentation.
